South Australian Artists from and/or sharing Kaurna land
“As the earth shapes the water, so too does the water shape the earth in a reciprocal relationship that each depends on the other, yet neither do they invade beyond the bounds of necessity”.
With respect to the Kaurna peoples of the Adelaide region, we acknowledge that this website has been created from lands belonging to this heritage and its people.
Being that I am of Narrunga/Ngadjuri descent (of surrounding areas to Kaurna), I do acknowledge that any use of Kaurna language in the title/s of my paintings, shall be done with respect to this recognition.
Born Julie Tucker, I grew up up in the Adelaide Hills area... I am passionate about my culture, my people, my Ancestors. I am a Narrunga/Ngadjuri woman. My people can be traced from Wallaroo, to the back of the Flinders Ranges and to the top of Eyre Peninsula (in South Australia), right across the desert region to Western Australia.
